Support looks like this! It’s showing up, it’s appreciation, it’s openness, it’s sharing. Support is digging. I’m not a digger. I always felt that I was imposing on others so I only asked how you were doing as a conversation starter, but this year I was challenged by myself to be better than I was the day before - to dig deeper as I learned what support looks like & feels like to me and how that may be different for others. Supporting isn’t always buying. It’s a hug. It’s connecting. It’s asking or just being there. This year I’ve looked up and seen a few familiar faces in the crowd at different events ( @khatbrim @_cincodemaya ) or even new faces just yelling my name and supporting what I’ve attempted to do or change in the beauty industry. (Btw, this means a lot since I am very far from my family out here on the west coast). It can also be scary to push for what is right. Founders are often gambling all they’ve built for a greater good under the premise that ‘a rising tide raises ALL ships’. What lead the way for me to keep going was faith and lights in the form of a very supportive family and Beauty Bakerie community. It was a pleasure meeting each and every one of you yesterday and hearing about your makeup journeys! A few ladies had my OG lip whip tubes so I KNOW ITS REAL🤦🏽♀️ 🥰As we all know, it does us no good to just be pretty, the inside of us has a lot of value to offer the world and it can be beautiful too. I’m so happy that @beautybakeriemakeup is a part of enhancing every part of you! Thank you for the tremendous support! What city next?!
It’s still a Hot Gyal Summah over here in sunny California 😁 📸: @ad_eights
