I am so proud of you @janelle.vo , who was accepted onto her High School’s dance team this week (her first time auditioning for this and she nailed it!)👏👏👏👏👏👏👏💕 .
Janelle has been training with me since she was in the fifth grade, and she’s now entering her junior year in high school. Over the years she has taken ballet classes with me, participated in all technical workshops and intensives with me, and attended every class I held on flexibility. She is the dancer who will ask me what she needs to work on, will take notes while I’m instructing and coaching her, and will go home and work on everything! No questions asked!💕 .
A few years ago she joined a dance company for young dancers that I developed, and it was through this experience that I was able to introduce her to genres outside of ballet. My general rule for the company was that dancers could not dance in a genre that they did not know, or were not yet proficient in... but, Janelle was so determined to dance as much as she could that I was able to give her minimal cues (short coaching sessions), phrases of choreography, and notes on what to work on, and I knew she’d work on it. Janelle has always met me in the middle, and then pushed past all my very high expectations of her 🙌I am so proud of the dancer that she is. She is capable, talented, and loaded with potential.💕 .
Janelle is also a high-honors student who takes multiple AP classes at her IB school. She’s friendly, very team-oriented, focused, funny, and really supports the people around her.💕 .
Congratulations Janelle! I look forward to watching you dance this year and can not wait to see your growth!!💕👏👏👏👏👏🙌
