Half marathon training is going so poorly I may switch to the 10k. Any running tips? If your tip is to continue happily deadlifting 200+ lbs I’ve got that covered. Is this about pancakes?

First time making homemade bread! 🍞 Turned out pretty good if I say so myself! I used a #hamilton breadmaker, and used their basic white bread recipe. I plan to make the crust lighter next time because the crust is a tad bit too thick.

Refeed day looked like this:

Dolma/Sarma/ Lebanese style with Lamb Pieces 😍😍😍 - spiced/herbed lamb necks
- stuffed peppers
- stuffed cabbage - vine leaves

Filling: 2kg premium beef mince, 1/2 cup rice, 3 tbsp tomato paste, 1 can diced tomatoes, 2 grated onions, bunch of finely chopped fresh mint, 1tbsp dried mint, 1tsp cumin, 2tbsp sweet paprika, handful salt, pinch of pepper,  juice of around 4 lemons, drizzle of olive oil. Keep stirring through until rice starts absorbing the lemon/oil. 
Then stuff/roll!

Ingredients 🍱:
1.Leftover blackened shrimp 🍤 easy frozen stir fried veggies heated over medium heat for 6-8 minutes (I thaw them beforehand) with coconut aminos added to them. Sooo tasty 😍😍 2.1 piece of salmon with a sprinkle of garlic powder, pepper, salt, and lemon 🍋 squeezed on it cooked over medium heat for 3 mins on each side (get the pan hot first and add olive oil) + sautéed zoodles cooked for 3-4 mins over low medium heat in olive oil + 1/2 avocado 🥑

3.1 piece of skillet chicken leftover from a few meals ago (recipe a few posts back!) + easy broiled sweet potatoes 🍠 + 1/2 avocado 🥑 + tomatoes 🍅

4.leftover @eatbanza chickpea pasta 🍝 with 1 tbsp of avocado oil + 1 tsp garlic powder + 1 tsp onion powder + sprinkle of red pepper flakes + leftover shrimp 🍤 with @primalpalate new bae seasoning + sautéed mushrooms and spinach + 1/2 avocado 🥑

Yay! It’s Friday! It’s Donut time, trying out the @questnutrition Chocolate Sprinkled Donut Bar from @proteinpickandmix at snack time today! 190 cals and 20g Protejn, always great Marcos with these bars 🙌
As you can see these have a slightly different texture to the usual bars, more crumbly, a fab flavour and again, superb quality ingredients that don’t upset tummies. Love trying out all their range 😁

Plating it up - Portion Guide ✌️ As you can see for dinner last night I had fresh fish, oven fries, mushy peas and a big mixed salad 🙏 As you can probably tell from the title of this post I am going to touch on portion sizes and how to build a healthy balanced plate! If you weren’t aware I work full time in a hospital, where I see both in and outpatients. Yesterday I saw a few clients in the outpatient clinic, and in both cases the patients were overweight and had type 2 diabetes. When we discussed their diet the common theme was the lack of focus of vegetables in their diet and the over consumption of carbohydrates. Did you know that 4% of Australians eat the recommended 5 serves of vegetables per day 😱 With both clients I used the healthy plate guide which involves prioritizing non-starchy veg (1/2 plate - and fill this section first), 1/4 plate starchy carbs (pasta, rice, corn, potato) and 1/4 plate lean protein. The benefit of prioritizing non starchy vegetables is that they provide little calories (nutrient dense), lots of vitamins and minerals and are packed full of fiber meaning they will keep us feeling fuller for longer 👍 I eat like this every lunch and dinner and can guarantee I always feel satisfied !  This guide also applies to pasta dishes eg. spag bol - 1/2 plate non-starchy veg, 1/4 plate pasta, 1/4 plate meat sauce.
