The other day I posted on IGTV ‘What is Health?’
I feel this term is thrown around and the meaning is often missing.
When we enter efforts of fat loss whatever method used the thought process of eating for health is often thrown out the window as the primary focus is on the scale weight and of body image ✂️👙
⭐️For someone obese who haven’t yet learned the concept of the foods for health they eat less and start moving which in itself improves health as physiologically they become healthier and have removed an abundance of ‘unhealthy’ foods from their diet.
⭐️For mums who‘s role and responsibility is looking after their family their is health isn’t considered as highly and often grab what they can when they can and become extremely ‘selfless’ without intention as the importance to themselves isn’t their priority
⭐️For us in the realm of body composition goals we may have the habits and behaviours to eat more protein, fruits and veggies while planning out our food to meet our macros, aid satiety and training performance (as much as we can) while we diet but then we lose sight of health as calories come low and we enter the ‘unsustainable’ dieting phases💀
I know I’ve been guilty of fitting in a bowl of protein ice cream to help me manage cravings and thats coming from a more ‘health conscious’ individual…I’ve heard of people on low calories count in ludicrous things whist their calories are in no position to do so.
We also miss out on important essential oils that we sacrifice eating our weekly amounts of oily fish, eating avocados and adding healthy fats to our foods 🍳🥑
Feeling good, training with energy in the tank, better sleep, enough water, better mood, having libido, eating a variety of foods which I have set guidelines on (plant based products, oily fish 3 times per week, a more balanced approach) amongst other things is the ‘optimal health’ I aim for over being as concerned with aesthetics. ⭐️⭐️⭐️While goals and life are important remember ‘health’ should be aligned in here also.
If you’re unsure how to eat and train to your goals reach out to a reputable coach (link in bio 😉) who can help you.
