Today I officially began a Keto diet.  I LOVE food 🥘 and since I have been exercising several times a week, I’ve been eating even more. When it gets to the stage where I’m often eating compulsively, and feeling over full, I know it’s time for action.

Another @skinnytaste recipe! It’s from her air fryer book it’s the asian turkey meatballs.
Soooo delish ! It was 400cals for 100g of rice and 4 meatballs (1/4 c each so large meatballs I ate one right out of the air fryer 🤷🏼‍♀️) i love her book because i don’t know how to use my air fryer as far as temp / time goes and she really dumbs it down 😹. As I mentioned in earlier posts I couldn’t physically gather myself to take I picture just 5 years ago.... as my friend @chasinglifeinheels  would agree, I was a mess and had to do quite a few vodka shots just not to start crying in front of camera. But it was the beginning of me building my own company, so I kinda had to.
Now... just the few minutes I take to take a picture becoming pleasant. I really try to feel myself and not to overthink.... and sometimes, just sometimes I love the results ( as well myself). I just literally needed a minute longer than others maybe 🤷‍♀️ 1,2,3 or 4? 😂🤣🤷‍♀️🙈🙏🙏🙏🙏

If you know me, you know I will have a cry me moment if something tastes good 😂 and let me tell you this was a cry me moment for sure…

So simple and soooo yummy 🤤. INGREDIENTS.

4 Bananas.

2 Cup Oats (rolled or quick oats). ½ Cup Walnuts crushed finely.

6 Tablespoon Peanut butter ( I used - PB powdered peanut - which turned out perfect). ½ Cup White (or any milk or dark whatever you prefer) choc button / chips.

METHOD:

1️⃣ Pre heat oven on 180 C / 350 fan forced.

2️⃣ In a bowl mash bananas with a fork, add the oats, peanut butter, choc chips and only ½ the walnuts (leave some for the top). 3️⃣Line baking tray / loaf tray and place the mixture.

4️⃣ Evenly spread the remaining walnuts on top.

5️⃣ Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden. Pierce with a fork / tooth pick and make sure it comes out dry.

6️⃣ Allow it to cool down for ½ hr (if you can wait) & slice to how ever many pieces you would like too & enjoy 🤤🤤. Make sure to tag 🏷 me in your photos if you make them so I can share on my stories….

Today marks 65 days RAW, FAT-, and SALT-FREE.
⠀⠀
Contrary to popular and trendy diets, too much fat is not the most optimal thing for one’s body, especially if they’re navigating the world of chronic and mystery illness.
⠀⠀
Sure, types of fats matter. Avocado and coconut and nuts and seeds among other things are GREAT sources of fat—but the LEVELS matter too.
⠀⠀
As @medicalmedium explains, “The bombardment of a high-fat diet takes time and energy away from the liver performing its other duties, [like disarming and detaining harmful materials,] because it’s constantly in cleanup-in-Aisle-Three-mode.”
⠀⠀
It also requires the liver to produce different amounts and complex compositions of bile, which, although helps you in the moment, is not something you want happening repeatedly in the long-run.
⠀⠀
For this reason, when I do consume fats, I choose them from healthy, plant-based sources (like the ones mentioned above), and keep them under 15% of my diet.
⠀⠀
So why am I not consuming any fat? Because this is the year of Maddie’s Liver. 🥰
⠀⠀
When I reflected upon what kind of changes I wanted to make this year, I told myself that I wanted to honor my liver, just as it has honored me for my whole life. I wanted to take my healing to the next level, and ease my liver up that much more.

I also felt inspired following @omumakali’s journey, as they recently embarked on a raw and fat-free journey as well.

Featured here is one of my favorite fat-free meals as of late: cucumber noodles with a tomato-date sauce. Those are homegrown cherry tomatoes too. ☺️
