How to read food labels to make healthy choices? 
Serving size: This means the amount of nutrients listed on the box in each serving. E.g., a box of makhana maybe of 35 g; but the serving size will list nutrients based on 100g. 
Total calories: This will tell you number of calories per serving. 
Total cholesterol: Just remember you are looking for 20 mg or less and approximately 2 g of saturated fat per serving for it to be low on cholesterol. 
Fat-free: Should have ½ gram of fat or sugar per serving and should be free of trans-fats. 
Sodium:  You want this to be 140 mg or less per serving. 
Sugars: Should be free of any sugar derivative or added sugars (10% or under of daily calories from added sugars is admissible in a healthy diet. (However, NOT ACCORDING TO ME, AS I TAKE THEM OUT COMPLETELY) 
Carbohydrates from grain: Simple or complex? What kind of carbs does the food have? If it is refined flour, don’t take it. Whole wheat (if you are not gluten-free), brown rice/or brown rice flour, millets are healthy. But a lot of bread for example will have additional refined flour added, apart from it having these carbohydrates.

The only time I get to read is when I pick up my kids from school. I have about 2 hours to go through a few chapters. Did you know that eating good fats won’t make you fat? ⁠

All our adult life, we’ve been taught about only eating low fat and low cholesterol.⁠

So where did these belief come from?⁠
In 1970, a researcher named Dr. Keys did a correlation study between countries that ate a lot of saturated fats and countries that had a lot of heart attacks.⁠
The problem with correlation is that, correlation does not equal causation. He concluded that the reason why countries that eat saturated fats have high rates of heart attacks is because of they eat a lot of saturated fats. Omitting all the other factors involved within the diet.⁠
⁠
When you do low fat, you usually have to take out the fat and then it tastes like cardboard. So you put in something that makes it taste good and that comes down to processed sugar. ⁠
Sugar actually is the cause of heart attacks and obesity.⁠
⁠
So the bottom line is, sugar’s the problem—not saturated fats.⁠
Here’s the take-home for today:⁠
⁠
1. EAT MORE Quality SATURATED FAT.⁠
2. EATING SUGAR MAKES US FAT AND INCREASES OUR RISK OF HEART ATTACKS.⁠
3. EAT GOOD FAT such as avocado, salmon, anchovies, butter (never margarine), EV olive oil,  coconut oil, eggs, homemade nut milks, seeds and nuts.⁠
4. STAY AWAY FROM COMPLEX CARBOHYDRATES AND SUGAR such as breads, cereals, cookies, crackers or savory crackers, cakes, fruit juice, sodas, alcohol and pasta.⁠

Easy Creamy Coconut Chickpeas by @ginabnutrition 😋 Who loves a delicious and comforting curry? Get the recipe below: .
​Recipe
• 1-2 tbsp coconut oil or olive oil • 1 onion, chopped • 4 cloves garlic, crushed • 3 tsp curry powder • 2 tsp ground cumin • 1 tsp ground ginger • 1 tsp ground turmeric • 1 tin drained + rinsed chickpeas • 1 tin chopped tomatoes • 2 tbsp tomato purée • 1 tin full fat coconut milk • salt + pepper (to taste) • fresh coriander + lime, to serve .
.
1. Heat the oil in a large pan + sweat the onion + garlic.
2. Mix in all the spices + cook for 1 min. 
3. Add in the tin of tomatoes, tomato paste, coconut milk, chickpeas, salt + pepper + stir.
5. Heat until boiling, then turn down to a simmer and cook for 10-15 minutes. Serve with rice or quinoa, coriander + fresh lime juice! .

Still working on perfecting my banana oat pancake recipe... but I will say that you need to top any and every pancake with caramelized apples stat. ⁣

Chopped up 1 honey crisp and sautéed in a pan with 2ish tsp coconut oil, cinnamon, and coconut sugar. Holy cannoli it’s pure magic ⭐️✨⁣

Guten Abend meine Mäuskis! 🐭💙
Vielen lieben Dank für eure wahnsinnig tollen Kommentare unter meinem letzten Bild. Wirklich von Herzen ❤️ ein großes Dankeschön, damit hätte ich nie gerechnet! 🤗
Heute bin ich gut durch den Tag gekommen, also essenstechnisch ... 😄 Heute Abend gefühlt das erste Mal seit 2 Wochen oder so wieder richtig ordentlich & gesund gegessen. 👍🏼 Es gab leckere Fleischbällchen mit einer super cremigen Champignonsauce 🍄, Reis und Gurkensalat. 🥒👌🏼

Rezept für 2-3 Portionen:
➡️ Champignonsauce
• 350g braune Champignons in Scheiben schneiden, in 1 TL Öl anbraten
• wenn die Champis anfangen zu schwitzen, würzen mit Salz, Pfeffer & Estragon, 1/2 gewürfelte Zwiebel dazu geben, weiterbraten
• 1 kleine Tasse Brühe dazu gießen (ca 250ml), mit Speisestärke andicken (ca 2 TL, gehäuft) und mit 60ml Kochsahne 7% Fett verfeinern
• abschmecken mit einem Schuss Essig, Salz & Pfeffer
.
➡️ Fleischbällchen:
• 300g gemischtes Hack mischen mit Salz, Pfeffer & Zatar, alternativ Paprika edelsüß usw
• Klöpskis formen und entweder im Airfryer (200 Grad 10 Min) oder im Ofen (gleiche Temperatur) oder in der Pfanne (anbraten) zubereiten
.
➡️ Gurkensalat:
• 1 Gurke in Scheiben schneiden, in ein Sieb geben und salzen, damit etwas Wasser heraustritt
• mit 2 Küchenkrepp das Wasser aufnehmen nach ca 15 Min, Gurkenscheiben in eine Schüssel geben
• zum Gurkensalat 1/2 Zwiebel in Ringe geschnitten geben
• Dressing: 1 Mini Schuss Öl, Salz, 2 TL Zucker, 3 Spritzer Süßstoff, 1-2 EL Essig und TK Dill

Fertig! 😊
Eine Portion hat knapp unter 600 Kalorien, bei 2 normalen und einer kleinen Portion.

Aber so Klaue ich Mäxis Klamotten nicht 🦊🥳 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Übrigens: Ich merke, dass es voran geht mit der Diät 😬 hoffentlich 😅 aber bin mir schon ganz sicher, da es sich die Diät doch aktuell nochmal anders anfühlt 🙏🏻 Heute habe ich mir eine Liste gemacht mit Lebensmittel die ich nach der Diät unbedingt mal wieder essen möchte - aber kontrolliert ☝🏻 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Denn oberste Priorität nach einer Diät ist es, nicht komplett zu eskalieren und den Körper wieder langsam an die erhöhten Kalorien gewöhnen. 
Mein Ziel soll es wieder sein mein Gewicht zu halten und dabei klar zu kommen und mich wohl zu fühlen - denn dieses Gefühl ist mir so wichtig. 
Nach der letzten Diät konnte ich flexibler essen und habe mein Gewicht ein halbes Jahr halten können, bis ich mich für einen Aufbau entschieden habe. Aktuell weiß ich, dass ich diesen Weg diesmal nicht einschlagen möchte 😋

Also die letzten Wochen werden jetzt nochmal durchgezogen und dann bekommt mein Körper die Ruhe die er verdient 🙏🏻 Ich werde zwar weiter tracken und kontrolliert meine Kalorien erhöhen, aber auch wieder mehr nach Gefühl essen.
