After a very, VERY long week of aggressive miscommunications in my personal & professional life,  technological nightmares, and just all around "WTF is going on rn⁉️", I Googled to see if Mercury was back in retrograde. ⁣

Last week I hit a bit of a wall and felt like my training wasn’t going anywhere and that my body had stopped changing so I spoke with my PT who decided to take my measurements hoping to show me that I had made small progress since last time.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Out came the tape measure and I could hear oh my, wow, this is fantastic with each measurement she took, this made me a little excited. Since my last measurements I have lost a total of 25.5cm from all over my body 🤩 my body fat has gone down and my muscle mass has increased! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Now to keep on working hard and I’ll be at my goal in no time 😁😁

Alright so I’m finally settled in Arizona now and trying to find my home away from home. Checked out @crossfituru today! let me know where else I should stop in at! 🤗

To be quite honest, I haven’t been doing CrossFit at all lately and these are my first snatches and butterfly pull-ups in MONTHS. I’ve been bodybuilding and working out, just not CrossFit. It’s not because I wanted a break. Actually, I’ve been really struggling. My business has been struggling, I’m burnt out from working 7 days a week and being in constant survival mode. To be completely frank, I couldn’t afford a CrossFit membership. Everything that was for ‘me’ has been put to the bottom of the list for so long. So I just did what I could with what a I had. I realized that a lot of what I was trying to make work in my life wasn’t. I wasn’t happy, I was hurting and barely keeping my head above water. So I’ve made really big, scary changes to get myself closer to the possibility of living a happier, more fulfilling life. A big part of that is financially related so I moved out of California to Arizona where I could cut my cost of living, put my inventory into a warehouse (something I really didn’t want to do again, but I found a great fit) and took a second job for the first time again in years. Life is freaking complicated and hard. Oh so hard. But I just want to train, be less stressed and feel like I’m leading a successful life that I can be proud of. My definition of success is changing as I get older. I was just really feeling overwhelmed and drained as I moved through figuring out and changing so many things. Didn’t feel like posting here for a bit. Sorry. I’m always creating content for my business, which seems like a necessity so my personal stuff always gets left behind. I want to change that. I want to feel like it’s okay to prioritize me again. This page has always been a training log. And today is the next chapter of training in this new state. I can say there is a ton of 🔥 that built inside of me for throwing around weights and fly on the rings. I just want to sweat my ass off. And from what I hear, I’ve come to the right place 😜

Transforming your body doesnt always have to mean you didnt love your body before. To me, gaining the knowledge, the tools, the drive and tenacity, to change the look and shape of your body even just a little bit, is something to be celebrated
.
A strong fit body isnt just nice to look at, it displays a type of ambition, a work ethic, a dedication to oneself, to always be constantly improving. I feel blessed to be able to do what i do, but truthfully, im not special because anyone can do it, even you reading this right now...🧐

The only bikini season I’m missing🤪

But seriously, the training I did over summer paid off not only on the stage in August, but it has accelerated rehab for my knees tremendously.

It’s refreshing to know that alllllll those leg days did pay off. Muscle loss is kind of inevitable for me right now, but it’s just a chance to learn more about biomechanics and rehab!

Here’s to the snowy weather and finding the positives in every situation🧠🤘🏽

Ohio is really killing me today.. anyone else? The rain and snow ughhhhh I’m not ready for it☹️.

A lot of people message me and ask for advice on what to snack on! I luvvvv snacks and I’ve found a lot of great ones! Sometimes we think to hard about it and it’s really simple. 🍑🍎🍌🥑🥥
Here are a few ideas if you are hungry & want something healthy to snack on;).
-Fruit🍑
👉🏻there are so many nutrients in fruit. potassium, dietary fiber, vitamin C etc. a lot of people don’t get the right nutrients from their food and fruit can give it to ya;-) (Apples, grapefruit, mango, pineapple, strawberries, blueberries etc).
-Rice cakes😬
👉🏻A lot of people say that rice cakes are cardboard but that is totally not true😂 they are so so good (not plain obviously) but I love the chocolate ones and even a plain one with peanut butter is so good. They are low in calories so they can leave you feeling hungry due to their low caloric content so add some Pb on top with a cut up banana or maybe hazelnut spread with cut up strawberries! Get creative😉.
-Protein bars🍫
👉🏻protein bars are great to snack on in between meals because they will keep you full and satisfied. They have a great balance of carbs, proteins and fats!.
-Veggies🥦
👉🏻I love vegetables and they’re so so good for you. They have so many nutrients like vitamin A, vitamin C, potassium, dietary fiber etc. celery with peanut butter is great, broccoli with Walden farms ranch, green beans, spinach etc! Get your greens in they are great and your body will thank you!

Our minds are so powerful. For a long time I would get a bad case of anxious nerves on a heavy squat day. I don't know if it was from failing squats or just my personality but I would almost make myself sick right before a squat session. .⁠⠀

Then my son asked if I wanted to train legs with him and I said YEAH BUDDY, not quite realizing what I was in for 🤣 .⁠⠀
⁠⠀
The first 4 sets were fine but after that around rep 6 of each set I started struggling. Rye would stand behind me at that point, unasked, and spot me if needed so I could finish the set. ⁠⠀
⁠⠀
That was one of the hardest workouts ever. But after that my fear went away. ⁠⠀
⁠⠀
Your mind is so powerful. Take the time to get in a confident headspace before any workout that makes you nervous and I promise you'll see an amazing difference. .⁠⠀

But it had to get done 🤷🏻‍♀️ Been slacking way too much and need to get my sh* together 😬 So what better way to start this new week than annihilating my lower body 🍑 And yes, I am, in fact, recovering on the floor #dead

I had a great time this weekend but Me, She, and Her had to get back on the grind. Staying consistent with a healthy lifestyle has blessed me in many ways. My journey has introduced me to my fabulous tribe, afforded me opportunities that I would not otherwise had, and kept me looking/feeling younger than I would have if I made different choices. I’ve learned to stop focusing on age and enjoy this beautiful journey 💋🖤✌🏽.

Issa ✨ Monday ✨😆 I do my best to put my head down and get to ⚡️WORK⚡️on Mondays because I believe it sets the tone for the week. (Sadly I don’t have Veterans Day 🇺🇸 off, but my grandpa and uncles who served in the Navy are at front of mind and in my heart today ☺️💜)

I also try my best not to ever dread Mondays, if you truly dread 😞 the end of the weekend and get a serious case of the “Sunday Sads” Or “Sunday scaries” maybe you should re-evaluate what is going on in your life and whether your work is truly fulfilling or whether it is actually draining to you? Mondays are a fresh start, if you choose to look at them that way. Some things I do that help me feel rested and ready to go for a new week:
💜Make sure I have healthy meals prepped and ready to go, or make sure I have time early in the week to make or get some meals. 😋🥗
💜 Workout! I don’t really like taking Sundays or Mondays off of training, Fridays and Saturdays are actually my favorite days for rest. 💆🏻‍♀️
💜Review any work or personal commitments I have for the week so I know  I can get everything done when I need to.
💜Clean my room
💜Wash my makeup brushes 💄💋LOL 💜Do a face mask with my roomies if we are all home on Sunday nights! ☺️😆 .

I also try my best not to ever dread Mondays, if you truly dread 😞 the end of the weekend and get a serious case of the “Sunday Sads” Or “Sunday scaries” maybe you should re-evaluate what is going on in your life and whether your work is truly fulfilling or whether it is actually draining to you? Mondays are a fresh start, if you choose to look at them that way. Some things I do that help me feel rested and ready to go for a new week:
💜Make sure I have healthy meals prepped and ready to go, or make sure I have time early in the week to make or get some meals. 😋🥗
💜 Workout! I don’t really like taking Sundays or Mondays off of training, Fridays and Saturdays are actually my favorite days for rest. 💆🏻‍♀️
💜Review any work or personal commitments I have for the week so I know I can get everything done when I need to.
💜Clean my room
💜Wash my makeup brushes 💄💋LOL 💜Do a face mask with my roomies if we are all home on Sunday nights! ☺️😆 .

What leading up prejudge looked like...
• 530am: wake up take progress photos
• 6am: watch some of The Office marathon & eat some pancakes
• 715am: get 3rd coat of tan
• 830am: got my makeup SLAYED by @lebou_beauty (Amber you’re the greatest!)
•
(This is where it takes a turn...)
•
• 915am: tries on my new suit... doesn’t fit. (Lost too much weight overnight)
• 930am: comes back to my hotel room to snag a back up suit... THAT FIT PERFECTLY!
• 945am: make it to prejudge
• 11am (approx.): pumped up backstage with my girl @dezie1388_ifbbpro (my calming spirit)... Then hit the stage.

Looking back at this show and everything leading up to the big day, there’s not one thing that I would change differently. Not only am I happy with this particular look, I also know it’s continuously “up from here”. One thing that needs to be understood about this sport is that a lot of times, it’s not gonna be your day. You can’t control who shows up to compete or who shows up to judge. What you can control is how YOU show up each time and if you know in your heart that you improved from your last showing. When it’s your time for a W that won’t pass you. Until then, have the will to not quit, take the L on the chin.... AND KEEP GOING! Success is never rewarded to someone that sits on the sidelines and sulk in defeat feeling sorry for themselves. They’re too focused on how they can get better to get to where they need to go.
