I used to hate Mondays. It was the start of another long week and I was already tired. How was I going to get everything done, have enough energy for Charlie after school, and work on myself?

Well you know what got left out.....ME!!!! Not anymore. Now I wake up ready for the week. I get my workouts in early so I have plenty of energy for the day and time to spend with Charlie and Lindsay at night.

I choose to see Mondays as the start of a week filled with possibilities. I choose to start anew each week and put the last one behind me. You can only get better from here.

4 Übungen für die Schultern 
Fürs heutige #mondayworkout gibt es was für die Schultern – entweder Gewichte oder Wasserflaschen nehmen – 12-20 Wiederholungen und 3 Runden oder nach Zeit: 45 bis 60 Sekunden 3 Runden. 
Im schulterbreiten Stand, Knie leicht gebeugt, Spannung im Bauch und Rücken, Schultern weg von den Ohren, langer Hals: 
1.  Arme leicht gebeugt, seitlich heben mit Handfläche zum Boden bis Schulterhöhe und langsam wieder tief
2.  Arme angewinkelt, Ellenbogen in den Oberkörper abstützen, Handflächen zeigen zur Decke und zur Seite öffnen
3.  Arme auf Schulterhöhe, angewinkelt, zur Decke strecken, aber nicht ganz durchstrecken
4.  Oberkörper leicht nach vorne beugen, Rücken ist gerade, Blick zum Boden, Hals in Verlängerung der Wirbelsäule – Arme seitlich heben mit Handflächen zum Boden bis Schulterblätter zusammengezogen werden können. 
Viel Spaß beim Training.

On the tough days (because we all have them), I adjust my expectations - and my hair - accordingly.

Maybe instead of heavy leg day 🏋️‍♀️ I do some yoga 🧘‍♀️.
Maybe instead of waking up at 5:40, I wake up at 6:40.
Maybe instead of stressing about eating only Whole Foods 🥩🥒, I have a protein shake for dinner.
And maybe I wear my hair in a messy bun for the...fourth? 🤷‍♀️ day in a row.

Not to be mistaken for the times when I need to tell myself to get my 🍑 to work, because there are also days where I would rather just be lazy, and I need to give myself a push (usually on those days I phone ☎️ a friend because it’s hard to self-motivate).
But I digress.

Doing what you need to do to adjust isn’t failure, because this is about creating a lifestyle, and it has to be sustainable.

It might not be much, but it’s a start!

Exercise which works the upper chest muscle. I decided to start bringing the bar down to my chest as low as possible when doing a rep to work the muscle more. But this is a really good exercise for targeting the upper chest muscle. Even better then the bench press. Unlike the bench press you have no support or a spotter so this is definitely a strength/power building exercise. Therefore I recommend this over the bench press.

🎗For our last two days we will focus on 2 upper body movements. This is a simple 
exercise for the triceps to do on recovery day or as a warm up before heavy pressing movements to prime the body.

🎗STEPS:
1) Stand on the looped band.
2) Hold the band with your arms overhead and elbows point skyward.
3) Straighten the arm and squeeze the tricep at the top.
4) Slowly bend the elbow, don’t let the band snap your arm back down as this can jolt the shoulder.

Mrs Hastings still has the same goals and drive to be the healthiest version of herself. All you need is laptop and/or phone, your music and some creativity to get your workout out in. Time restraints meant not as long a workout as possible. And dont worry no quality time with the hubs sacrificed. He had some things he needed to do and so I used that time for my workout.

Also making as good of choices as possible food wise. We are in Tennessee after all! But I found these while grocery shopping and had to try. Hello time saver and excellent protein! Meal prep just got easier. I make similar ones (I've won awards for them!) But these will save some serious time which is invaluable with all we have going on. 
Now on our way to Pigeon Forge and keep your eyes open for some amazing Honeymoon portraits!

As we head into our first official month of classes this week- we just wanna say Thank You to everyone who has come out and tried us, come out and stayed and those who continue to show up each week. We’ve got a great group of people, people who want to succeed and are already making so much progress! Without you guys we wouldn’t be up and running! If you haven’t tried out our classes, first class is AWAYS free, 5 class days and times offered through the week & reasonable monthly rates. So you ready??
