“It felt a fucking lot like my first time in a real prison – it was amazing,“ says Mr. Muhon. But the real magic came after that.
He spent eight years in prison on charges of stealing a computer. "I feel like it was the only time I got to experience something I wouldn’t have experienced anywhere else in the world”, he says.
And once he and his wife found safety in the prison, he says he could relax: “I remember going up a flight of stairs and it was dark; I could just take off my shirt.” So why prison?
In 2008, he and other inmates formed a group called Prisoner’s Justice, a group that took up residence on the property and eventually formed a new prison that was a few miles across the river from their old one. "It became important for me to find my self again in a different prison system,” says Mr. Muhon. “I was doing this new prison thing… it was a way for me to reclaim the time I lost to being in society, and for me to have some real closure.” #incarceration #satire #justice #udou #relaxation #beingyourself #findingyourself #stealing #writersofinstagram #experiencemore #experiencedifferent #instagramstories
