Protect your skin from the inside out❗️
Aside from sunscreen, there are foods that we eat that can keep your ability to protect your skin from the sun.
Resveratrol in red grapes, ellagic acid in berries and carotenoids, along with polyphenols like EGCG in green tea offer natural sun protection. Carotenoids are antioxidants that give pigment to orange and red fruits and vegetables and go by names such as lycopene, lutein and beta carotene.
In terms of protecting yourself from sun damage, wearing a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 along with sunglasses and hats are the most effective, but your diet comes right behind that. There are so many components that you can consume from foods that have all these different protective effects so make sure to have high levels of nutrients in your skin that will help you limit that sun damage.
