Something you might not have known about me 👇
Surfing was a massive part of my life growing up. My dad was the first generation of surfers and made his own short board before they even existed! They were basically riding long planks of wood (aka wooden longboards) before he decided to cut his down. He made my first board when i was in primary school, when i was still obsessed with the spice girls - hence why my first board (a 5'11 mini, mini mal - or short board with a curve) was painted in zebra print 🦓 later to be named 'zebra head' after another band i loved. I still have all my boards 💖
I lived on the beach and had a great group of girlfriends who i surfed with almost every day (they're still my best friends). We were the only girls out in the surf in those days, now the ratio is much more even 🤙
We were blessed with some of the best waves in the world, growing up on the Mid North Coast of Australia 🇦🇺 🌊 i wouldn't have had it any other way.
I now live in Hong Kong on one of the only surf beaches around. I rarely go out as its rare to get swell and if there is, conditions are usually terrible with sometimes way over 100 peeps out, all learning to surf on the same break 😱🙈 I enjoy the odd surf here and there but miss the quality waves and conditions, but still, even a little paddle does so much for my soul - I dream of the waves and sharing them with my friends and Dad at home often 😴😊🏄♀️🏄 I guess that's my souls way of getting it's fix when i can't? 🤷♀️ I'm a water sign ♓ and born in the summer. I have a deep love and respect for the ocean 💙🧜♀️ Salt water and sunshine is my medicine ☀ and after living in multiple cities across the globe, one thing i know now is that i must be near the beach 🏖 and waves are always a plus 😉🌊🌴 Happy International Surfing Day! 🌊🏄🏄♀️ Who loves to surf or wants to learn? 🤙
