Hello everyone, Thu from @madebytherat here. Today, I'll be sharing my take on the letter U and talking about my art journey so far!
About the prompt: I love botanical line drawing and hand lettering. So I always thought it was a great idea to incorporate botanical drawings to my hand lettering and came up with my own style. I've been hand lettering each letter with various botanical shapes with black ink, white ink and colors on different types of papers. While drawing letter U, I thought why not experiencing the letter U more than what I usually do; Letter U with white ink on black paper, Letter U with black ink on line paper, Letter U with gradient colors on watercolor paper, Letter U with colors on Kraft paper and Letter U with white ink on Kraft paper. I love them all; and there are still many other ways that I wish I could share in one post with you.
My art journey and supplies I use: Im a graphic designer and I use Adobe photoshop and Illustrator most of the time; and there was a time when I totally forgot how to use a pencil and a notebook. I've decided to go back to use pencils and sketchbook more often since last year and the art community on IG has inspired and motivated me to continue with my passion, hand lettering. I hope to improve my hand lettering and become a hand lettering artist in the future. I use Pilot pens and Sakura pens most of the time on Lemome and Leuchtturm 1917 notebooks.
A helpful art tip: keep practicing, be patient and keep learning from books and tutorials to come up with your own style. Don't be afraid to try new techniques, to use new art materials and don't be afraid to leave small blemishes in your art piece :) Thank you Aaria for the opportunity to share my artwork with the community. ....
