It's been a little over a month since Andre started preschool. And I can say it wasn't easy. He would cry the entire time, not eat, and I am sure he cussed everybody out more then once in his own way ๐๐. Eventhough there are still issues that are unresolved with the school district (Advocate mode is now on), Andre is now starting to do better. There were no tears today ๐ฅฐ. We started one of my favorite units today.. Gingerbread! Throught the course of the week we will be reading various versions of The Gingerbread Man to the kiddos. We also got to practice using our fine motor skills with a q-tip gingerbread man (or girl!). Thanks to @planningplaytime we were also able to practice identifying shapes by tracing and sorting! .

I have taken our second shelf and used that as a grab and go. They will be hands on activities that we can pull anytime that reinforce concepts we are learning. .

My goal is to change out the activities as theyโre mastered or set up activities to help โsparkโ the interest. It will also help me not have to run and grab something really quick or go hunting for materials I know we have. Everything has a home. .

I cut out these gingerbread shapes and outlined each in different colours of โicingโ with the idea that Iโd get my son to put matching dot sticker buttons on them. But then he started to just colour away and that works too - there doesnโt always have to be an agenda! My sonโs gingerbread have a bit of a creepy vibe (but he made circles for eyes!! ๐๐ป) I love them ๐. Weโre either going to turn them into a garland or postcard style Christmas cards for the neighbours! โข

I just grabbed a bunch of kid-friendly ornaments off the tree and had him sort them into items that start with โsโ (Santa, snowman, snow globe, snowflake, stocking) and items that donโt (Mouse, reindeer, mitten, dog, bells, elf). With the items that didnโt start with โs,โ we talked about โwhat sound do you hear at the beginning?โ โขโข
