I always envisioned myself as a “stay at home mom”. Ever since I was a little girl, and watched my mom do it. I dreamed about it! Freedom to not report to a job, or deal with the corporate minutia. People would ask as they do to all high school/college kids what I wanted to do or be and my response was “Not sure, I just want to help people and be a mom”. Enter “nursing” career.
But, holy crap being a mom is literally the HARDEST job and kinda like nursing (no lunch breaks or god forbid pee breaks alone) and then to miss holidays, birthdays, or have to BEG to get shifts covered if my PTO request was not approved!
I quickly realized I needed a different solution because as much as SAHM was still my dream, I was getting burnt out and returning to nursing was NOT for my family. I wanted to have a career and something for me, but something that was just a couple hours a day. Coaching (despite all my excuses, doubts and misconceptions) quickly became the ONE thing that actually helped me jump back into my role as a GOOD mama. I showed up better because I took time away. It helped me work through my anxiety, PPD, and I became more patient + present with Bryce and confident! My coaching business was an outlet, where I could give back, help others and be ME unapologetically. It has helped me so much find the balance in life while contributing and still being PRESENT!
Of course its evolved over the years and I found the 2 hours a day in different times (early mornings, late nights, 15-20 minute pockets throughout the day). It has never been perfect, but its become successful! So, I want to encourage you, the mama who needs something FOR HER, the mama who wants to contribute financially, the mama who wants to be PRESENT more, but not that full blown stay at home mom, you are NOT selfish or unworthy if you devote that time to you! It’s SMART! It makes you a better YOU and our families need us at our best.
I’m enrolling for my next mentorship, so if you’d like to be considered for a spot on ur team please reach out!
