Why? Do you want to disappear? I hear that on a regular basis when someone hears I’m going to the gym. ⁣🙄🙄😖

People think that being skinny or underweight makes it ok to comment on, or make fun of like being told to “eat a cheeseburger”, but you know what it’s not! It’s not more ok to comment on my weight than it would be for me to tell someone they’re fat. I used to be laughed at for having a boy figure, or for looking like a child. It really affected my self esteem back then. All my friends growing into women and me lacking behind being tiny and boyish. Every teen girl’s dream right? But I learned to live and love with how I am and the gym gives me a way to gain some muscles and curves. Plus to stay healthy because skinny does not always equal healthy! What most don’t realize is that I struggle to put on weight just as hard as some do to lose it. My body being a stubborn SOB goes against wanting to leave it’s comfort (under)weight by giving me no appetite and making my metabolism work overtime. Eating the required calories to gain is not a walk in the park for me. I need to force myself to finish meals, to drown down smoothies (life savers btw) and eat when I have absolutely no hunger. But I do it because I’m not busting my butt off at the gym for nothing. I did that for 2 years with no gains and ignored all the advice about needing to eat more until I realized I was wasting my time. ⁣

I really have no reason why I’m giving this spiel except for being irritated from some comments today. So I’m using you to vent sorry ha! Embrace your curves or lack thereof! 😊⁣

I ain’t gonna front guys, I’ve been on and off with the gym for a 1 month and a half. Life is hard. Your motivation is not always there.. buuut ya girl is back. A month ago, I started with 60kg (132lbs). Now I do 70kg with 8 reps!🤘

Tomorrow I’ll go for a low bar squat. The difference between the high-bar squat and the low-bar squat is the bar placement. In the high-bar squat, the bar rests on your traps. With the low-bar squat, the bar rests a few inches lower on your posterior deltoids or your mid-shoulder.

What muscles are engaged? 🎯 .
🔺High bar: Because the high-bar squat requires greater knee flexion, it recruits especially the quads, more so than the glutes and hamstrings. Mostly performed by Olympic lifters.

🔻Low bar: targets the glutes and hamstrings more than the high-bar squat does. However, your quads and hip flexors are still involved. Mostly used by powerlifters because the low-bar squat enables most athletes to move more weight.

with shows coming in 2020 - I personally believe the work & setting that base for 2020 starts now, yes enjoy in moderation, but don’t use it as an excuse to go crazy.

Squats are the best metaphor for life. When some heavy shit keeps trying to bring you down but you just keep getting back up. I didn't even feel like working out today but I had a cancellation in my schedule so why not do some skwats for fun 😅💪🏋️‍♀️. 405lbs for 5 reps at 180 that's a personal record for my bodyweight I'll take it. Yeahhh buddy light weight baby! .

Oh how I hate leg days 😂 but I know I have to do them because I hate how small they look in comparison with my upper body lol! Also it takes every last drop of energy out of me hahaha. I think it’s crazy how much I’ve improved on even doing leg days from where I was last year. It went from doing them once a week (if I didn’t skip the day) for like 30mins to now doing them twice a week for more than an hour at least and really going for quality reps instead of just going through the movements to get the workout done faster just to even say I did legs 😂 but the results of more work and effort have shown I believe a lot from last year to this year.

This actually works. Since many of you already know that I was down with Dengue for the past 2 weeks, I was feeling lost mentally as well as physically. 
Mentally strenuous because I had lost the strength to lift weights. It's a thing which the people who lift will relate to.

Just yesterday I stumbled upon a video online which was talking about how if you change your thought process, your reality changes. How each cell of your body responds to the way you think and feel. 
So I decided to apply this today and since morning I didn't think that I was sick for a long time. Infact, I did all those things which I did while I was fit and fine.

Guess what, today when I walked into the gym, I started lifting just the same weights where I left. Yes, ofcourse I was feeling a little drained out by the end of it but the body did respond to my thoughts and it worked just perfectly fine. 
I think we should really start focus on training our mind more than the body because if your mind can conceive your body will achieve. It's an absolute true statement.

Der Schlüssel liegt ziemlich nahe, denn die meisten machen keinen vollen Bewegungsablauf in der Wiederholung und das ist das wichtigste an dem Ganzen ☝🏼
Verändert den Stand des Fußes und eine Mixtur aus leichten Bewegungen 15-20 Wdh. bis schweren mit 6-8 Wdh. 
Dann ca 2-3 Tage die Woche volle power und die Waden wachsen wie von alleine.
Hier ist es noch wichtiger als bei allen anderen Muskelgruppen das man die Bewegung und die Anspannung komplett ausnutzt 💪🏼

If I could recommend one exercise for pregnant women it would have to be SQUATS. Of course there are other great exercises and yes you should be exercising at least 30 minutes a day, but squats have been proven to help with the birthing process. ⁣

When you do squats you don’t have to be at the gym. You can be at home doing body weight squats or just pick something up in your house that is moderately heavy and use that as a replacement if you don’t have any weights. ⁣

Benefits of squatting while pregnant🏋🏽‍♀️⬇️⁣
-Increasing the pelvic dimensions for an easier birthing process (prevents obstructed labor) ⁣
-assisting in the baby’s decent by opening birth canal. ⁣

Stoked that more of Team Canada is here, and very happy to see more of my international friends. Feeling MUCH better after putting in some work today. Friday, Nov 22 at 6AM MST I’ll be taking the platform here in Dubai at @openworlds19 😮
