I am always the one who tries to help, I am the one people go to when they need someone and because I care too fucking much I won't say no. I have missed out on so much because I was trying to help someone else. Do you understand the kind of stress that puts people through? 😌Count your breaths. Now that you’re settled in, turn your attention to your breath. Just place the attention on your breath as it comes in, and follow it through your nose all the way down to your lungs. Try counting “one” as you take in the first breath, then “two” as you breathe out. Repeat this to the count of 10, then start again at one.

😌Come back when you wander. Your mind will wander. This is an almost absolute certainty. There’s no problem with that. When you notice your mind wandering, smile, and simply gently return to your breath. Count “one” again, and start over. You might feel a little frustration, but it’s perfectly OK to not stay focused, we all do it. This is the practice, and you won’t be good at it for a little while.

😌Develop a loving attitude. When you notice thoughts and feelings arising during meditation, as they will, look at them with a friendly attitude. See them as friends, not intruders or enemies. They are a part of you, though not all of you. Be friendly and not harsh.

😌Don’t worry too much that you’re doing it wrong. You will worry you’re doing it wrong. That’s OK, we all do. You’re not doing it wrong. There’s no perfect way to do it, just be happy you’re doing it.

😌Don’t worry about clearing the mind. Lots of people think meditation is about clearing your mind, or stopping all thoughts. It’s not. This can sometimes happen, but it’s not the “goal” of meditation. If you have thoughts, that’s normal. We all do. Our brains are thought factories, and we can’t just shut them down. Instead, just try to practice focusing your attention, and practice some more when your mind wanders.

Reflecting on an amazing long weekend away with my whole family. We had a little pre-birthday camping trip. Despite the crazy winds,  dust storms, smoke from nearby bushfires and ongoing worry about bushfires gong on back at home,  we actually all managed to have a great time! I had many moments of sitting back and just enjoying the goings on, people talking, toddlers playing (or fighting!), just the general stuff of life 😊 How lucky I am to have all my beautiful family in the one place,  handling the crazy weather with tenacity and enthusiasm. 
What's the last trip you took with your whole family?

Memoris to 9/11 are immediatelly present and this went on for long enough to fear that an attack just happened again!

As a woman makes her way into her second trimester, the body usually starts to feel better!

The reason women may start to feel better by the time the second trimester comes along is that because it takes a lot less energy to make a baby grow bigger than actually conceive and develop a baby. Also in the second trimester, the chance of miscarriage drops significantly.

If you are still tired in your second trimester, talk to your Doctor and experienced TCM practitioner as you may have some imbalance in a particular organ. They can help you find balance and receive some treatments like acupuncture and herbs.

If you experience stomach discomforts and kidney weakness which manifests as iron or blood deficiency, eat more soups made with nourishing bone broth, goji berries, eggs, Chinese red dates. Bone broth helps to nurture the bones of the new baby which start to develop at about 5 months. Always try to consume sustainable, organic, animal products.

If you are experiencing irregular bowel movements, make sure you are eating whole foods and vegetables!

To do:
〰️Limit spicy foods, shellfish
〰️Mediate and connect with nature
〰️Listen to soothing and gentle music to balance the body
〰️Raise the legs to avoid swelling and promote circulation

Early this morning I woke up with wisdom teeth pain. (They have been trying to push through this past year, and I am happy to be in surgery next week to let them go) Today I tried my best to watch my thoughts and to have a good attitude but realized that I was being unrealistic and that I was absorbing the stress of every little thing today which only made things worse... I have been learning so much lately about how are feelings and thoughts can cause our body symptoms... Today after trying so hard to watch my thoughts and emotions closely and trying so hard not to let the pain, exhaustion, and stress get the best of me, I realized I was trying to be perfect again. 
Tonight after a stressful day mentally, and physically I realized it was time to surrender. 
As I look back through the times of pain and illness I realize that it was 10000% worse when there was more than one stress going on. Such as the time when my grandfather was going through pancreatic cancer, and then the changes that came after his passing caused illness and pain to be more present. 
Tonight I am calling it early, taking a warm bath, eating dinner, and then off to bed with some uplifting videos, and music... If your finding yourself in pain and sick often find small moments to escape the mental stress, and let your brain breathe... 😊
