The Eye of Horus, The third eye (also known as the inner eye) and the The pineal gland. Why they look so alike? 
Once called the 'third eye,' the pineal gland is a small gland located deep in the center of the brain. Named for its pinecone shape, this gland secretes melatonin, which plays a role in the body's internal clock.

The pineal gland contains mainly pinealocytes, which are cells that produce the hormone melatonin; and glial cells, which are a particular type of brain cells that support neurons (the cells that transmit information to other cells). The pineal gland is key to the body's internal clock because it regulates the body's circadian rhythms. Circadian rhythms are the daily rhythms of the body, including signals that make someone feel tired, sleep, wake up, and feel alert around the same time each day.

Mental health
Pituitary gland function
Drug metabolism
Aging
Sense of direction

“Don’t say you are grateful. Practice it.” .  Sooooooo hard sometimes to be grateful when things are not going the way we want, the way we planned.. but that’s when we have to practice gratefulness. .  When you get sacked, dumped, won over, left out, left down.. you name it.. when you feel sad, when you feel betrayed, when you feel disappointed, down, depressed and when you feel CURSED. .  When you have the feeling nobody gets you, nobody wants you, nobody deserves you, nobody is there for you.. yeah I know.. it’s damn hard, but after all, when you finally get through it, when you get out of it stronger ( I and say stronger not - Numbed Out and emotionally disconnected) when you look back and you think WOWOWOWOW how the heck did I make it through this or instead WOWOWOWOW why the heck did I not get out of that earlier.. well than you know EVERYTHING happens holds a lesson, a reason to grow and and experience to learn from. .  A few pictures here of my beautiful time in the Aeolian Islands of Sicily, now time to get ready for the next chapter and I can totally feel it, there is  going to be a lot to be grateful for 💙🙏🧜‍♀️🤘

Я БЫЛА НА ИНЬ-ЙОГЕ!  Это сказочное направление йоги. То, что мне нужно! 
Все позы выполняются из положения сидя и лёжа. В каждом положении вы задерживаетесь на длительное время от 2х до 20 минут! (Нас так долго не держали). Это необходимо для проработки фасциальной ткани, суставов и сухожилий. Используется много поддерживающего оборудования: болстеры, кирпичи 🧱. Войдя в позу вы учитесь максимально расслабляться. Мы занимались с приглушённым светом, поэтому эффект от практики был прекрасным и я чуть не уснула). Мне показалось, что я могу так заниматься и 2, и 3 и 4 часа!  Сама преподаватель, Юлия, очень мягкая и внимательная. Я благодарна за этот прекрасный опыт! 🍀 .

I believe I can fly, zong een jongetje heel spontaan en vrolijk terwijl we op het spottersplatform in het zonnetje zaten te genieten. 
Hij inspireerde me om zelf even m'n vleugels uit te slaan in Virabhadrasana 3, ofte het 'vliegtuigje', één van m'n favoriete houdingen in yoga. Deels omdat ze me elke keer opnieuw herinnert aan m'n liefde voor reizen en de turbulent mooie jaren die 'k in luchtvaartsector werkte. Maar vooral omdat de houding - in deze foto verre van perfect en da's ok - focus, stabiliteit en kracht combineert, en met wat speelse variatie me een enorm gevoel van vrijheid - en vertrouwen - geeft. I believe I can fly! 
De komende yogaweek gaan we voor zachtpittige variaties op de  verschillende krijgerhoudingen -  gronding, stabiliteit, core en focus. En daarbij stelt zich de vraag: waar wil jij naartoe?

I definitely have an angel 😇 devil 👿 situation going on in my head ... I often know what is right for me but I often allow myself to listen to that little voice of doubt!! My problem then is I start to seek advice from others, too many others, and then I get myself soooo confused! 🤷‍♀️ I think we all find it very easy to have an opinion on someone else and what we think they should/shouldn’t do, but usually that opinion has come from our own perspective and not of the person in question ... I definitely have an angel 😇 devil 👿 situation going on in my head ... I often know what is right for me but I often allow myself to listen to that little voice of doubt!! My problem then is I start to seek advice from others, too many others, and then I get myself soooo confused! 🤷‍♀️ I think we all find it very easy to have an opinion on someone else and what we think they should/shouldn’t do, but usually that opinion has come from our own perspective and not of the person in question ... It was 13 years ago when I met with Yoga in Switzerland with our lovely teacher Liisa Tamminen💕
Yoga like a good friend to me that we don’t see each other sometime but always feel closed. It is not about perfection, neither try to change something. It is more about what you do like and how you do feel. Just the simple way it has, if you open your heart gently without judging you and around you🌱
I hope that all my musician friends do yoga when they’ ve time for this beautiful journey 🙏🏻 namaste .

long, oversharing caption alert ➡️ going out/drinking: i consider myself more extroverted than introverted. i love going out & being where people are or else i get FOMO. but these past couple of years, whenever i go out & drink, the next day my anxiety is on overdrive. i’m constantly worried that i embarrassed myself or that my friends are mad at me, even if i remember everything clearly. it’ll take at least a day for these feelings to die down & it makes me not want to go out anymore because i know i’ll have to deal with the anxiety the next day. the problem is that while i’m drinking, i feel so light & anxiety-free so i’m honestly having a good time but the next few days, i feel terrible. i love chicago but it seems like a lot of the social life revolves around drinking. which is totally fine & i’m not against it but i’m started to feel ready to move to a place where i can do more outdoorsy things & spend my days off out in nature. i’ll always love my ciders but i’m going to try to add other activities into my social life. anybody else deal with anxiety/worry after drinking? —

I struggle with this everyday! But... everyday I learn to love my body a little bit more, not just for what it looks like on the outside but what my body allows me to do! Everyday my balance gets a little better and I deepen my poses a little more,  I walk a bit faster, holding those planks for 10 more seconds ughhhh yes the body is a beautiful instrument and I will never stop tuning it😁🧘‍♀️🙏

TIPS FOR USING PROPS:⁠
Use props! Every pose in this sequence can be used with either a block or a strap, and boy do some of our hamstrings need it- I know mine do!⁠

For Downward Dog: Use blocks under hands to allow you to focus on your hamstrings and go deeper.⁠
⁠
For Standing Forward Fold: Use blocks under your hands right in front of your feet so you keep a straight back in order to effectively stretch your hamstrings.⁠

For Pyramid and Half Split: Use blocks on either side of your front foot to allow you to deepen as you fold without rounding your back.⁠

Make your hamstrings happy with this simple yoga flow.⁠

ROUTINE:⁠
→ Downward Facing Dog⁠
→ Standing Forward Fold⁠
→ Pyramid⁠

→ Triangle⁠

→ Half Moon⁠

→ Extended Side Angle⁠

→ Half Split⁠⁠
→ Seated Forward Fold⁠

→ Reclined Big Toe with Strap⁠



TIPS FOR USING PROPS:⁠
Use props! Every pose in this sequence can be used with either a block or a strap, and boy do some of our hamstrings need it- I know mine do!⁠

For Downward Dog: Use blocks under hands to allow you to focus on your hamstrings and go deeper.⁠

For Standing Forward Fold: Use blocks under your hands right in front of your feet so you keep a straight back in order to effectively stretch your hamstrings.⁠

For Pyramid and Half Split: Use blocks on either side of your front foot to allow you to deepen as you fold without rounding your back.⁠

When I started yoga and my teacher was telling us you need to learn to see this pose as your resting pose, find ease through your breathe and relax your body every time you exhale I was like WTF how can it be a pose you could rest...
Practice after practice this pose became one of favorite to let go release and build some energy 💪🏼 .

As yogis of #yogakioofamily we practice hard. We fall a lot, we injure ourselves sometimes -we see them as karma purifications though-. Don’t think that we don’t get afraid sometimes. But we have the courage! While walking on your path maybe courage is one of the most important things. We have the courage to face our mind, we have the courage to face our fears, we have the courage to face people -sometimes even our families- who think we are crazy. And most importantly we have the courage to face what’s inside us!
